what a full-service move manager costs in Los Angeles

We start well before move day. Our team helps you declutter, decide what is moving with you, and make a plan for everything that is not. Then our trained professional organizers pack the home in a very intentional way. Everything is labeled by room, contents and destination, and we keep track of what is going to the new home, storage, another property, donation, gifting or somewhere else. For clients who want a more detailed level of tracking, we can also create an itemized inventory of what is being packed and where it is going. If items are going into storage, we can create a visual inventory of the storage unit as well, so you know exactly what is there and where to find it.We also hire and manage the movers and coordinate all of the other pieces around the move, including storage and shipping, specialty items like art, pianos and safes, installers, cleaners, donation pickups and anyone else who needs to be part of the process. On move day, our team is in both homes making sure everything gets where it belongs. Then we unpack, organize and set up the new home. We can stock the kitchen and pantry, make the beds, organize closets and get the everyday essentials in place so the house is ready to live in, not just unpacked.

Your full-service move management fee includes our team, all of the planning and project management, and the movers.Products and materials, such as shelving, bins and closet systems, are additional. There may also be outside services needed along the way, such as a handyman, electrician, installer or other specialty trade. Some of those needs are clear from the beginning and can be included in the proposal. Others do not come up until we are further into the move and can see exactly what the new home needs. When something additional comes up, we let you know what is needed and what it will cost before we move forward with it.

The biggest factors are the size of the home, how much you are moving and how complicated the move is.A larger home or more belongings usually means we need a larger team. Storage, multiple destinations, specialty items like art, a piano or a safe, detailed inventory, and additional setup or installation at the new home can also add to the scope.Timing matters too. If a move needs to happen very quickly, we may bring in a larger team so we can get it done without dragging the process out.Once we have seen the home and understand what is moving, where it is going and how much support you want from us, we can give you an accurate project price.

No. We price moves as a project. After the consultation, we send you a proposal with the scope, schedule and project fee, so you know what Taylored Spaces Design and the movers will cost before the move begins.

A moving company is responsible for getting your belongings from one home to another. Some moving companies also offer packing, but their job is still centered around the move itself. Our professional organizers pack very differently. We are thinking about where everything is going, how it will be unpacked, and how the new home needs to function once you get there. Boxes are organized and labeled intentionally so our team can reliably put things back where they belong instead of opening a box and trying to figure out what goes where. We also manage everything around the movers, including decluttering, storage, specialty items, vendors, move-day coordination, unpacking, organizing and setting up the new home. The movers are an important part of the process, but they are only one part of it. What you are paying us for is not the hours. It is not having to carry the entire move in your head.

Most full-home moves are completed in under two weeks. The exact timeline depends on the size of the home, how much you are moving, and how many moving parts are involved. Once we have seen the home and understand the scope, we build the schedule into your proposal so you know what to expect before we get started.

Very little, unless you want to be.One of the biggest differences in how we work is that we bring in a large, trained team so you do not have to be there managing every decision. Most of our clients are working, traveling or handling everything else going on in their lives while we are packing and preparing the move.Because our team understands how homes function and how people actually use their spaces, we can make a lot of the day-to-day decisions without needing to stop and ask you about every little thing. We will involve you when we genuinely need your input, but otherwise our goal is to take the move off your plate as much as possible.

Yes. If you already have a moving company you love, or you would rather book the movers yourself, we can still handle the packing, unpacking and setup around them.Packing & Unpacking starts at $15,000. Our team professionally packs and organizes the home before the move, then comes back on the other side to unpack, organize and set everything up.If you only need help once the truck arrives, Unpacking & Set Up starts at $10,000. We take it from there and get the new home organized, stocked and functioning as quickly as possible. In either case, you book the movers and we coordinate our team around their schedule.

If you are moving from New York to Los Angeles, we have a small team in New York that can help manage the pack-up there, while our Los Angeles team handles the unpacking and setup of your new home. For larger or more complex New York moves, we will talk through the scope with you and build the right plan.If you are moving from another city, we can handle the Los Angeles side and connect you with organizers we know and trust in your current city for the first half of the move.We can also coordinate with your movers and the team on the other end so there is a clear handoff and everyone knows what is happening. For moves coming into Los Angeles, Unpacking & Set Up starts at $10,000. If you would like us to manage more of the move, we will quote that after the consultation. Travel, when needed, is billed separately.

You will have a dedicated team lead overseeing the project, and that person will be someone you or your representative has met before the move begins. From there, we bring in the size of team the project needs. Every member of our team is background-checked, NDA-signed and trained in-house.Your team lead is there to keep everything moving, answer questions and make sure the work is being done the way we planned it. You should always know who is responsible for what is happening in your home.We are fully bonded and insured. Founder Taylor Greenwood has more than 15 years of professional organizing experience.

Absolutely. In many cases, we work primarily with a client's assistant, estate manager, family member or other representative. We establish who the decision-maker is at the beginning of the project and make sure everyone knows who to contact and what they are responsible for. Our goal is to keep the number of decisions that need to come back to you as small as possible. You can be as involved as you want to be. If you would rather have us work directly with your representative and only bring you in when we truly need your input, we are very comfortable working that way.

We help you make a plan for all of it.During the decluttering process, we separate what is moving with you from what is being donated, gifted, shipped to family, put into storage or disposed of.If there are higher-value items that make sense to consign, we can coordinate with an outside consignor, such as The RealReal, but we do not individually list and sell items ourselves. From there, we coordinate the logistics so you are not left with piles of things to deal with after the move. If something needs to go to a different home, storage unit or another destination entirely, we make sure it gets routed to the right place.

Yes.We can find and book a storage unit in the location that makes the most sense for you, coordinate what is going into it, and make sure everything is packed, labeled and organized in a way that will still make sense later. For clients who want a more detailed level of tracking, we can also create a visual inventory of the storage unit so you know what is there and where to find it without opening every box.We can also help when it is time to bring things back out of storage or move them somewhere else.

It happens more often than people think.Movers get delayed, closings shift, construction runs long, or the new house simply is not ready when everyone expected it to be. Part of our job is adjusting the plan when that happens. We coordinate with the movers, storage, vendors and everyone else involved, then rebuild the schedule around the new reality. We let you know what is changing, what it means for the project, and whether there are any additional costs before we move forward.

Yes. We can source and purchase the products needed to get the new home set up properly, including things like bins, drawer organizers, shelving and closet products. We can also stock kitchens and pantries and purchase household essentials so you are not arriving at a beautiful, organized house with an empty refrigerator and no toilet paper.Products, groceries and other purchases are billed separately from the project fee. We will talk through what you want us to handle before we start buying.

Yes. We regularly coordinate the people needed to finish setting up the home, including handymen, electricians, art installers, furniture assembly and other specialty vendors. Some of those needs are obvious before the move begins. Others do not become clear until the furniture and belongings are actually in the new house. When something comes up, we help figure out who is needed, coordinate the timing and keep that work moving alongside everything else happening in the home.

That is very common. Not everything always goes directly from one house to another. Some things may be going to storage, a second home, family members, donation or another destination entirely. We plan for those different destinations before we pack and label everything accordingly, so the right things end up in the right place. For more complicated moves, we can also add detailed inventory tracking when it makes sense.

The earlier we can get involved, the better, especially for larger homes or moves with a lot of moving parts.Getting involved early gives us time to declutter, plan what is going where, coordinate movers and vendors, order anything the new home needs, and build the right team for your dates. That said, moves do not always give you a lot of notice. If your timeline is short, call us anyway. We will look at the scope, our availability and what would need to happen to make it work.

Yes. Sometimes people call us after the movers have already been booked, packing has started, or the truck is practically on its way.We can step in wherever you are in the process and take over the pieces that still need help. That may mean finishing the packing, coordinating the move into the new home, managing the unpacking and setup, or simply bringing order to a process that has gotten overwhelming. We will look at what has already been done, what still needs to happen and build a plan from there.

Yes. Moves often involve things that need more than a standard moving box.We regularly coordinate specialty items such as art, pianos, safes and other belongings that may require specialized movers, shippers or installers. We make sure those items are identified ahead of time whenever possible and coordinate the right people around them so they are not treated like just another box on the truck.

Start with a free phone call so we can learn a little about your move and make sure we are a good fit. From there, we schedule an in-home consultation for $250, which is credited toward your project if you move forward with us. After we have seen the home and understand the scope, we send you a written proposal with the plan, schedule and project fee.
